Kearny Bank Joins Forces With Foodbank Network of Somerset County to Tackle Child Hunger

BACKPACK MEALS – In support of the Foodbank Network of Somerset County’s ongoing Backpack Program – which during the current school year will serve nearly 2,000 students in 27 different schools – Kearny Bank team members recently volunteered their time to fill backpacks with weekend meal bags. Child-friendly and ready to eat, the meals are intended to prevent hunger when school meals aren’t available.

In addition, through its KearnyBank Foundation, Kearny Bank recently donated $5,000 to the Foodbank Network of Somerset County. Information about supporting the backpack initiative and other network programs is available online at www.somersetfoodbank.org.
