Women Owned Business Certification Lab

Watch our interview with Rafael Mata, Regional Director of New Jersey Small Business Development Centers (NJSBDC) to learn more about our Kearny Bank ChangeMakers program and partnership with NJSBDC.

Kearny Bank ChangeMakers will be hosting a Women Owned Business Certification Lab this fall. During this 2-hour working session, we will walk through the certification application as well as cover the following important topics:

  • Ensure you are properly registered with the State of New Jersey to do business in NJ
  • Get added to the state website that contractors visit to find certified businesses to contract with (i.e. -NJSAVI)
  • Free or low cost access to special programs only available to certified businesses
  • Grant and contract bonuses for being a certified business
  • Access to state and local procurement opportunities (set asides/diversity spending)
  • Access to private sector contract opportunities

Make sure you bring the following documents in order to complete the business certification application:

  • Driver's License or Passport
  • Affidavit - must be typed by you, NOT notarized
  • Owner's Statement - must be typed by you, NOT notarized
  • Names and Addresses of Owners/Partners - must be typed by you
  • Organizational Chart - must be done by you
  • Certificate of Formation
  • Business Registration Certificate
  • EIN Letter
