A total of 25 Paterson STEAM High School students recently participated in a two-part, four-hour financial literacy session presented by Kearny Bank. The first portion of the presentation emphasized the function of banks and related financial institutions, while the second part focused on various aspects of credit. Jacqueline Gibbs, Kearny Bank’s First Vice President / Fair Lending Officer, and Larry Ford, Assistant Vice President / Retail Relationships Manager at Kearny Bank’s Ocean Grove branch, served as the primary presenters.

Conducted in conjunction with the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey (AACCNJ), the session was part of the AACCNJ’s ongoing “I AM” Youth Leadership Program. Available each school year to students in Paterson who volunteer to participate, the program provides instruction related to public speaking, job readiness, entrepreneurship, and much more.
